Getting from Prague airport to Karlovy Vary by bus.

I have gone to the Czech train and bus website (Jizdnirhady) to look at the connections from Prague airport to Karlovy Vary by bus. I see that the buses run from Florenc bus Terminal located in downtown Prague to KV. At first I thought I'd first have to take a bus from the airport to Florenc terminal, and then a second bus from there to KV. But on closer inspection of the connections details, one of the stops listed 20 minutes after it leaves Florenc is "Prague Terminal 1" which looks to be the airport to me. If this is the case, it would obviously make sense that I take the bus from here since I'll already be at the airport, rather than making an extra trip into the city.

Can anyone who may be familiar with this, or with the bus schedules, or who has done it themselves confirm this for me, or is "Prague Terminal 1" referring to some place other than the airport ?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

M

Hi,
Sorry, I can't help you out about the bus and trains. However, we did rent a car and drove from Prague to Karlovy Vary. It is a very easy drive & only takes 2 -3 hours depending on traffic. I thought I would mention this in case you decide to rent a car.

Most of the buses (if not all) stop at Ruzyne airport Terminal 1, and they are frequent. Not sure whether you can buy the ticket at the terminal itself, but you can buy it from the driver. The trip is about 1.5 hours.
Enjoy Karlovy Vary

Thank you all, very much.

Unclegus, very kind of you to do that, and thank you for the link. Useful info there.

Wobbers, sounds like you've been to KV. Any tips or recommendations ?

Kwoo, thanks for the advice on the car rental. I was tempted to go that route (excuse the pun) but it may not turn out to be time economical for just 2 days.
Hot on the heels of your great trip report, I am booked at the Pushkin Romance for 2 nights and I'm looking forward to it. The hotel has been great to deal with and very prompt and courteous with their e-responses. I plan to re-read your TR for more recommendations of the area.
I won't get there until Oct. 24th (St. Petersburg first) and hope to post updates in the Europe forum of the places I visit as I land in them, so keep an eye out. It will be one long thread, not separate posts by country.

Mathieu, glad to hear you are booked at the Pushkin Romance. We enjoyed our stay there & their hot & cold breakfast buffet is excellent!!! The best we had on our trip!!! The location is perfect, too.
