Eurorail Pass
My wife and I have booked accommodation in Rome-Sorrento-Florence-Venice-Milan-Nice-Paris-Zurich from 4 July to 22 July and planned to purchase a 3 country Eurail pass to complete this journey. I have since read about some bad experiences of travellers using the pass - not being able to get on some trains because they were fully booked - not being able to get to pre booked/paid hotels in time (my fear). Advice Please

www.seat61.com good pass discussion. Used to use them decades ago when they were way cheaper not as many surcharges. Unless you train 4 hours or more per day every pass day few make money.
Best for me to train like a local way cheaper in Italy from 2euros per hour of training on regional trains for me last May.
I recall paying 4.5 euro Rome Orvieto Venice just hopping on.
Good luck!

Thank you qwovadis. The 2 long train trips we have are Milan-Nice and Nice - Paris. All the others are less than 3 hours.I have checked out the Pass info on http://www.seat61.com and we are leaning towards point to point tickets.
