I don't think they have a program but if you make a large enough donation I am sure they would suit you up for a swim with Yu chan

As hawaiiantraveler suggested that's probably the only guaranteed whale shark diving! A lot of places advertise that you can see or dive with a whale shark but nothing is certain and you can end up not seeing one at all.
I did see one while diving in Phuket but was not looking for it so it was pure luck for me.

We are spending a week sailing there this Christmas. There seem to be hotspots off Ko Lanta and on the other coast near Ko Tao. It would appear that the sighting are no where near as assured as say Australia.

If you want to be assured of seeing a whale shark, certain areas of The Philippines and Australia are the only relatively sure bets. The most reports I've heard in Thailand in the last year are for around Sail Rock near Koh Tao.
