London Heathrow Arrivals
i am wondering how international arrivals work at Heathrow. Is it similar to Dulles in that all passengers go thru the same area for customs and baggage, or does each termianl have its own customs area. I am wondering because my daughter is arriving in London on a United flight from Dulles and meeting a group from a United flight from Newark. I know departures for these 2 cities are from different terminals, but can't find any specific info on arrivals. She is arriving an hour ahead of the Nework group so should have time to go to another terminal if needed.

Checking the Heathrow website tells me that, today, the United Washington flight arrived at terminal 1 and the United Newark flight arrived at terminal 3. This appears to be their regular terminals.
Each terminal has it own immigration, baggage reclaim and customs.
Your daughter can walk from terminal 1 to terminal 3 and meet her friends in the arrivals area, perhaps outside one of the shops e.g. W H Smith.

rhy,
Yes all Pre-merger United destinations including Dulles fly into and out of terminal 1. Pre-merger Continental destinations: Newark and Houston fly into and out of terminal 4. They will not go through the same Customs/Immigration.
sofarsogood,
None of United's Newark flights arrived at terminal 3 today. All arrived at Terminal 4 gates.
