We have a late arrival in Delhi and are staying at the Courtyard Gurgaon with a possible shopping trip into town if we are up to it the next day. Continuing on to Bhutan...
In the past we have stayed at the Radisson, which is a great, albeit expensive hotel for a brief overnight stay and an early morning departure with good transportation to and from...

Here is the link for the new sleeping pods at the airport. Since you have a transit flight, you can enter the airport (well, you'll already be there) up to 24 hours in advance.

My husband and son used them last year, said they were very clean and comfy and have a shower. They don't take reservations.
As soon as you pass through Customs you will see a retail area with restaurants. The reception desk for the sleeping pods is in that hallway (just ask as soon as you clear Customs - don't go out of the airport). After the pod reception desk there is a sitting area and the doors to the pods. They are not large like a hotel room, but are clean and quiet.

The pods are for one person only, there is also a transit hotel in the airport. I would suggest staying there for a good nite sleep. There is a large food court at the airport, also, you can get massages in the transit lounge.

In case airport hotel or pods don't work for you///
How long do you have? I have happily stayed at Chhoti Haveli, a small homestay in an ok area, about a 15 minute ride from airport (they will pick up and drop off)
For less expensive hotels very close to airport, we used Hotel Saptagiri about 3 or 4 yrs ago. Rooms were clean, modern, and adequate, and it is quick trip to airport. It does get mixed reviews, though
