Vienna day trip to Melk Abbey & Krem
Looking for advice on the best way to do a day trip to Melk Abbey & Krems from Vienna.
Looks like I can book a river cruise for around $90 USD per person -- 8 hours, they pick you up at your hotel (always nice)
A certain PBS travel guide who shall remain nameless recommends taking the train to Melk, touring the abbey and then biking or taking a boat to Krems and then a train back to Vienna. Does anybody have any more detail on that approach such as the frequency of the trains, locations of the train stations etc?
Any thoughts or previous experience would be appreciated.
