Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown Review

This hotel is in the historic City Hall Annex, and the original brass, copper, and bronze details on the elevators and staircases have been lovingly refinished. It's across the street from its sister property, the Philadelphia Marriott; both provide easy access to the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The hotels share some facilities—meeting rooms, for example. The comfortable guest rooms have complimentary Internet access, refrigerators, iHome radios and business-friendly amenities like full-size desks. Some rooms have excellent views of City Hall's elaborate Victorian architecture. The new fitness center gets plenty of natural light and features machines equipped with flat-screen televisions.

We stayed here for a convention and it was fabulous! I have never stayed in a hotel where the staff was more attentive to our needs! Each one spoke to us as we passed and our requests were granted in a timely manner. The lobby is gorgeous in this historic building! Be sure to taste the strawberry water served in coolers each day!

  • Big 10 campuses

I thought it might be fun to try to visit all of the Big 10 campuses in a year (or thereabouts).

Anyone have any suggestions for not-to-be-missed campus or area sites?

Thanks for your help. Read more
