With more than 90 dancers, the New York City Ballet has an unmatched repertoire of 20th-century works. Its fall season, which runs from mid-November through December, includes the beloved annual production of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker. Its spring season runs from April through June; an eight-week Winter Repertory program runs in January and February. The company continues to stress the works themselves rather than individual performers, although that hasn't stopped a number of principal dancers (such as Kyra Nichols, Darci Kistler, Damian Woetzel, and Wendy Whelan) from earning kudos. The company performs in Lincoln Center's New York State Theater. Family-friendly Saturday matinees are offered throughout the regular season.
