A stately Greek-revival building with imposing columns, the inn has one of the most dramatic facades of any house on the Cape; it sits near the Botanical Trails and has its own fine gardens, patios, and tree-shaded lawns. On the 1st floor, the Joshua Sears Room, with a mahogany king-size four-poster bed and antique furnishings, is a traditional Victorian chamber. Upstairs, the romantic Village Suite, with an Italian armoire and cherrywood writing desk, opens to the front porch; the frilly Victorian Room has its own fireplace. Some smaller rooms, particularly the basic Guest Room, are pint-size. Pros: Elegant and intimate historic lodging, close to attractions of scenic Route 6A. Cons: Some rooms a bit small, no water views or direct beach access, some rooms accessed via steep stairs.
