Fox & Obel

Fox & Obel Review

Skip the tourist-trap funnel-cake fare at Navy Pier. This riverside gourmet market a block away is a toothsome escape. The prepared fine and organic foodstuffs are treated with reverence, and although service is cafeteria-style, selections are decidedly more sophisticated. We like the signature club with applewood-smoked bacon and basil-pesto mayo and the salmon burger. There's also an adjacent market bistro open for dinner daily and brunch on the weekend. But first, a word of warning: attractive chocolate bars, exotic charcuterie, and worldly cheeses sold in the upscale grocery can be budget busters.

Visited this Cafe on Labour day by accident as there was a queue to get into Yolk. However very happy to do so,the cafe is tucked away in a corner of the market.
There was a good selection for breakfast & our choices were excellent. The service was fine.
However another happy accident was the discovery of the "hidden" bistro attached to the food market for an excellent evening meal.

Everything is delicious but the service could be better. I think if the numbers were placed higher so the servers could see them it would help. We ate here 2x since the food was excellent. The cobb salad, soups, sandwiches and cookies are wonderful!!!
