As you pass Benson on Interstate 10, watch for Ocotillo Avenue, Exit 304. Take a left and drive about 2.25 mi, where a mailbox with a backward "SW" signals that you've come to the turnoff for Singing Wind Bookshop. Make a right at the mailbox onto Singing Wind Road and drive 0.5 mi to the shop. You'll probably meet Winifred Bundy, who also runs the ranch. She knows just about every regional author around, so this unique bookshop-on-a-ranch has signed copies of books on almost any Southwestern topic. This chatty bibliophile also frequently shares her love of the area with visitors, throwing in choice tidbits about obscure sights and her literary friends' favorite haunts. She doesn't take credit cards, though.
