The Governor's Residence Review

It's a trip back in time at this 1920s colonial-style mansion located on a quiet backstreet in the Embassy Quarter of Yangon, a true respite from the grit and grime of downtown with a lovely pool and gardens; spacious, well-appointed rooms; and tasteful teak- and cream-accented decor. Guests have complete control of the in-room central a/c, which goes very low—necessary during Burma's sweltering summers. Service is impeccable. Breakfast on the veranda overlooking the pool and gardens is a delicious, tranquil way to kick off a long day of sightseeing.
