Fodor's Review:
One of the few hostels in Shanghai, backpackers choose Captain Hostel as much for its rooftop bar and restaurant as for its clean, bright rooms and convenient location a half-block west of the Bund. The dormitories accommodate 5 to 10 people per room in bunks resembling ships' berths, in keeping with the overall nautical theme in this 1920s hotel. The 20 first-class rooms are tired but fair-sized, with TVs and private bathrooms. Bunk rooms must be paid for in cash.
