When to Go

The weather along the North Coast is usually pleasant, although a strong sun causes temperatures to climb from November to May. The Northern Highlands weather is more capricious—rainy season is November to early May, and it's drier from mid-May to mid-September. September and October have fairly good weather, but occasional storms can frighten off would-be mountaineers.
