Air Travel

Santiago's Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport is about a 30-minute drive west of the city. An official taxi or private transfer from the airport to Centro is about 18,000 pesos (slightly more to Providencia and Las Condes); get tickets from the counters before entering the arrivals hall. A shared transfer (which departs when there are enough passengers) costs about 6,000 pesos; get this also from the counters. The cheapest option is to take one of two buses–-Turbus or Centropuerto–-that depart from the airport to Pajaritos and Los Héroes metro stations (Los Héroes is more centrally located), for about 1,800 pesos one way, per person, or 3,200 pesos round-trip. These buses leave from the departures terminal.
