Fodor's Expert Review Blue Elk Inn

Formerly the Alpen Rose, this inn just outside of town was renovated in 2020 by new owners, who upgraded the property with modern room amenities like 50-inch smart TVs, Keurig coffee makers, and gas fireplaces, along with enhanced outdoor features including a seasonal pool, year-round hot tub and treehouse sauna, firepits, and free bikes. Some rooms have balconies with views of the mountains, and others have their own firepit on the covered patio. The inn's exterior has Leavenworth's standard Bavarian look, but the rooms are anything but cookie-cutter, with a variety of layouts and decor.
