Fodor's Expert Review Marian Koshland Science Museum

Downtown Family

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Part of the National Academy of Sciences, this small but engaging museum invites older kids and adults to interact with current scientific issues in a thought-provoking setting. Visitors have the opportunity to use science to solve problems and engage in conversation. There's a driving simulator, a 3-D look inside the brain, plus exhibits on the science of healthy eating through the life span. In the Idea Lab, you'll explore the concept of resilience in your life and community. Map risk and resilience, play a disaster-simulation game, and create an emergency plan.

Though the interactive exhibits are fun and educational, they are aimed at ages 12 and up.
