Fodor's Expert Review Ogden Nature Center

Ogden Nature Preserve/Wildlife Refuge

As one of very few wildlife sanctuaries set within a city, the 152-acre center is home to thousands of trees, marshlands, and ponds, with nature trails used for cross-country skiing in winter. You can see Canada geese, great blue herons, red-tailed hawks, and snowy egrets, as well as red foxes, mule deer, porcupines, and more. The nature center museum has activities for children, and the Nest gift shop sells nature-oriented goods.
