Fodor's Expert Review Hardware Ranch

Logan Nature Preserve/Wildlife Refuge

If you pass through the Logan area in winter, it's worthwhile to take the drive up Blacksmith Fork Canyon, where the State Division of Wildlife Resources feeds several hundred head of elk through the snowy months. A 20-minute sleigh ride takes you up close to the majestic creatures. Dress warmly in layers. There's also a visitor center and gift shop; bring your own picnic lunch. Visit the website or call for detailed directions. The site is 25 miles from Logan and 15 miles southeast of Hyrum.
