Beaver Mountain Ski Area. Family-owned and operated since 1939, this locals' favorite is a 20-minute drive from Garden City and offers skiing like it was before it became an expensive sport. See aerial tricks or try night skiing (until 9 pm) at the two terrain parks. There aren't any trendy nightspots at the foot of this mountain, just an old-fashioned A-frame lodge with burgers and chili. 40000 E.
