Fodor's Expert Review The Prehistoric Museum, USU Eastern

Price Museum/Gallery

Miners working in the coal pits around Price in the late 1800s often saw and excavated rare treasures that most scientists could only dream of finding—dinosaur bones, eggs, skeletons, and fossilized tracks. These are all on exhibit at the Prehistoric Museum, USU Eastern. For families, this museum offers a small but excellent kids' discovery area where children can experiment with excavating dino bones all on their own. A second hall is devoted to early humans, with displays of beadwork, clay figurines, a walk-in teepee, and other area artifacts. You can't miss the museum's gigantic wooly mammoth and saber-toothed tiger replicas.
