You get what you pay for in superior service and amenities at this elegant hotel on beautifully manicured grounds overlooking Lady Bird Lake. Rooms are average size, but stylish—beds have goose-down pillows, L’Occitane bath products are provided, and iPod docking stations are standard. Some rooms have small balconies, and upper-floor units enjoy impressive views, either of the lake or downtown Austin. Extras include a lending library of Texas literature and outstanding onsite restaurant, TRIO, which attracts discerning locals in addition to guests. The hotel has an attractive outdoor saltwater pool, indoor pool, and whirlpool, as well as a fitness center and full spa.

YOU SHOULD KNOW President Obama stayed here when visiting in Austin.

A mix of the chain’s everlasting elegance with territorial design. Western artwork adorns the walls and rustic millwork intertwines with the modern décor. Guests can select a personalized mattress and pillows and even request a humidifier or air purifier—a nice perk for those who suffer from Texas allergies.

Getting Around

No need to use your car here. Park and walk to the plenty of attractions and eateries nearby. The beautiful Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail on Lady Bird Lake is IN the hotel’s backyard and will take you miles along the lake. For anything further away, a pedicab or Uber will do the trick.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood (8-minute walk) is a must for those who enjoy the freshest of seafood in landlocked Texas. For something a little less formal, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken (3-minute walk), with its checkered tablecloths and delectable Southern fare, is a fun spot for families or to rub elbows with fellow travelers.

The hotel is surrounded by a variety of lounges and bars, but for a truly unique experience check out the 100+ infused vodkas at the elegant and enigmatic Russian House (8-minute walk). If a quiet night of jazz and wine is your thing, hole-in-the-wall Elephant Room (8-minute walk) will make you feel like you slipped back into 1950s New York.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone who has not enjoyed their experience at a Four Seasons, and this location is no different. Not only does the hotel ensure that you have a luxurious, state of the art experience, but the location provides an array of Austin-y things to do, such as kayaking on the lake, jogging on the hike-and-bike trail or strolling the streets of Downtown Austin.
