Fodor's Expert Review The Shore House
113 Ocean Rd., Narragansett, Rhode Island, 02882, USA
Massive Victorian hotels once lined the sea wall in Narragansett Pier: the Shore House isn't quite that grand, but this boutique seafront inn is the first new hotel to open in town in many years, and it's a welcome addition. The 31-room hotel's decor does nod to the Victorian past, but the circa 1891 building has been extensively remodeled with a fresh coastal interior design. Some rooms have oceanfront balconies; most have water views. The ground-floor Sea Craft restaurant has a raw bar and serves lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.
PROS
- Great location near beach and shopping
- Excellent on-site restaurant
- Some room with ocean views
CONS
- No swimming pool
- Some rooms in a motel-like building
- Limited common areas for hotel guests
