Fodor's Expert Review The Break
1208 Ocean Rd., Narragansett, Rhode Island, 02880, USA Fodor's Choice
Narragansett's first upscale boutique hotel has a laid-back boho surfer vibe—minus the feel of the cramped VW Vanagon. Guest rooms are large and luxe, many with balconies overlooking the ocean or the heated outdoor pool; all the rooms have Apple TVs, iPads, heated bathroom floors, and king-size beds with supersoft linens. The complimentary small-plates breakfast includes sweet and savory bites, and beach chairs are available for trips to nearby strands. Chair Five, the restaurant named after a gathering spot at the town beach, serves locally sourced seasonal cuisine. Burgers and seafood dishes figure prominently on the menu, and there's a raw bar. Be sure to visit the rooftop bar at least once: on a clear day it has views of the Newport Bridge and Block Island.
