Getting Here and Around

A couple of highways—U.S. 97 and Oregon 126—cross in Redmond. U.S. 97 carries travelers north and south to Washington and California, and Highway 126 runs between Sisters in the west to Prineville in the east. If you’re driving on U.S. 26 from Portland, stop at The Museum at Warm Springs (541/553–3331 www.museumatwarmsprings.org) at the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation for a look at Native American artifacts, culture and history. Taxis and the Redmond Airport Shuttle ferry travelers to the Redmond Municipal Airport. Two bus lines, the Central Oregon Breeze and Cascades East Transit, serve Redmond. The Central Oregon Breeze links Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Portland, and Cascades East runs buses to and from Redmond and Madras, Prineville, and Bend. Passengers should call to ensure a ride.
