When to Go

Peak Season: June to August

Summer can get extremely hot and humid, making it feel 100°F-plus when it's only 85°F. Despite the humidity, there's much more to do in Ohio in summer than during any other season.

Off Season: mid-October to mid-April

Winters are cold, with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Expect at least a couple of surprise snowstorms or ice storms, most of them in January. Many hotels in summer holiday spots shut their doors for during the off-season.

Shoulder Season: September to mid-October; mid-April to May

Autumn is a good time for outdoor activities and the leaf-peeping is spectacular; the weather is usually fairly mild, and occasionally quite warm, through October. Springtime is rainy, with occasional flooding.
