Fodor's Expert Review Hemlock Inn

911 Galbraith Creek Rd., Bryson City, North Carolina, 28713, USA

This folksy, friendly mountain inn on 55 acres on a hilltop near Bryson City, operated by the same family since 1969, is the kind of place where you can rock, doze, catch up on reading, and play Scrabble. The all-you-can-eat meals (most rates include breakfast and dinner) are prepared with regional foods and served family style on lazy Susans at big round tables. Rooms aren't fancy, and in warm weather the little air conditioners may not do the job. Be aware that the Hemlock Inn has somewhat of a religious atmosphere, with no alcohol served or permitted in public areas and grace often said at meals.
