Most of the nightclubs in the Hamptons close after Labor Day weekend, but might open sporadically for fall and winter holiday weekends. If you need a little help making it past the velvet ropes, contact the Hampton Angels.
Live music, DJs, theme nights, and drink specials keep this longtime outdoor hotspot, about 8 miles west of Southampton, going all afternoon into the night Thursday–Sunday during the summer. A $10 cover is charged. The on-site restaurant, Shuckers Lobster Bar (dinner Friday, lunch and dinner weekends), offers a lobster feast, quick bites, salads, and a kids menu.
This is the place to come to if you want to be part of the Hamptons "scene." Although dinner is served here, the party doesn't really get started until 11 pm, with live music or DJs, and goes until the wee hours Thursday through Saturday. Come early—around 10—to have a drink at the bar and a (pricey) bite to eat to avoid lines. Make sure to dress your best. Although it's mainly a summer spot, it may be open Saturday nights fall through early January, and hosts special events throughout the year.
