At heart, Rhinebeck is a historic village with a dose of city sophistication. The influence of earlier times is present in the Victorian, Greek Revival, colonial, and other architectural treasures scattered throughout the village. Some two dozen, including the early Dutch-style post office, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Meanwhile, up-to-the-minute shops, restaurants, and theaters keep bringing new life to the old churches, early educational institutions, and other repurposed buildings they occupy.
