An adorable town landmark, the convivial canal-side restaurant of the modern Lambertville Station Inn occupies its own building, a renovated 19th-century train station that was designed by Thomas Ustick Walter, architect of the dome on the U.S. Capitol, as the headquarters of the Belvidere-Delaware Railroad. American classics and familiar international fare, meaning everything from jambalaya and burgers to chicken Milanese and salmon, are the focus, with some seasonal dishes. There's a children's menu and some kid-friendly choices, too. Despite the white tablecloths, the atmosphere is relaxed. Besides several seating areas, some overlooking the canal, the restaurant has a sports bar downstairs called the Dugout (with its own menu) as well as the Wine Cellar (closed summer weekdays); tapas, flatbreads, and cheeses are offered in the cellar.
