Three Chimneys Inn
17 Newmarket Rd., Durham, New Hampshire, 03824, USA
Fodor’s Expert Review
This stately yellow structure has graced a hill overlooking the Oyster River since 1649. Rooms in the house and in the 1795 barn are named after plants from the gardens. All of them are filled with Georgian- and Federal-style antiques and reproductions, canopy or four-poster beds, and Oriental rugs; half have fireplaces. There are two restaurants here: a formal dining room and the ffrost Sawyer Tavern (as quirky as the name implies).
