Cooke City–Silver Gate

The tiny, neighboring communities of Cooke City and Silver Gate, are just outside the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone and just west of the soaring Beartooth Mountains. This largely seasonal community that mostly shuts down from mid-October through early May has a handful of casual, Western-style lodgings and eateries and is a great little base camp for exploring Lamar Valley.
