Brook Farm Inn

15 Hawthorne St., Lenox, MA 01240, USA

Tucked away in a wooded glen a short distance from Tanglewood, this 1880s inn is a beacon of color painted bright yellow. Guest rooms have antique furnishing and in some cases fireplaces, tiled bathrooms, and four-poster beds. The carriage house offers a pair of handicap-accessible rooms.

For a stay during summer weekends, it's best to book months in advance.

room

With fluffy beds, period wallpaper (but nothing that screams grandma's old cottage), and restored antique furniture, the rooms provide a tranquil setting to watch tv, read, or snuggle. All 15 rooms are uniquely decorated; a few have fireplaces.

The loft room is a favorite with small parties. The third-floor suite is furnished with three beds (one queen and two twins), a gas fireplace, and large bathroom.
