Why We Like It

The convenience of being able to cook a few meals, the location near I-Drive, Universal and SeaWorld, and the price combine to make this an attractive choice for families, couples, or business travelers.

Fodor's Expert Review

In the center of the entertainment triangle bounded by I–4, Florida's Turnpike, and the Beachline Expressway, this all-suites resort is near Universal Orlando, outlet shopping malls, I-Drive attractions, and the Convention Center, making it a good option for family vacations, romantic getaways, and business travel. Accommodations are in studio suites with kitchenette and one- or two-bedroom suites with full kitchen, washer, and dryer. A grocery-delivery service is available to stock the kitchen before you arrive. The heated outdoor pool and hot tub offer a refreshing plunge after a workout at the fitness center or an all-day theme park marathon.

You Should Know The complimentary shuttle service has a set schedule. If you have small children who might want a break in the afternoon, you'll have to use a ride-share service, as the shuttle return service is only at night.

Some suites have separate tiled showers and Jacuzzi tubs, which can provide a relaxing end to a day filled with hectic theme park activities.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

The I-Ride Trolley will take you from one end of International Drive to the other, and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Disney parks and Universal Studios. Hotel parking is included in the service fee, and a car would be the most efficient way to get back and forth to the parks, but taxis or ride-share services are readily available.

Restaurants

International Drive’s entertainment and dining opportunities are legendary, and The Point Hotel & Suites is only a block off the drive. Chain restaurants such as Chili's, TGI Fridays, and Pizza Hut (3-minute drive), are closest, but a variety of steakhouses such as Longhorn and Outback (5-minute drive) can be found if you head south. Boston Lobster Feast (6-minute drive) is an all-you-can-eat lobster and king crab buffet, but if you seek fine dining, you'll find it at Pointe Orlando (8-minute drive), where Capital Grille serves up prime steaks and chops, and The Oceanaire Seafood Room lives up to its name.

Bars

Pointe Orlando (8-minute drive) and the whole of International Drive offer more choices of drinking establishment than can be visited in a week. Two bars near Pointe Orlando cater to those who seek a truly cool experience: minus5° Ice Experience, with coat rentals to stave off frostbite, and ICEBAR Orlando, which has a warm room next door for dancing. The Pub Orlando is a pleasant, British-style spot, where staff wear kilts and you can pour your own beer. One quite vibrant spot on I-Drive is Mango's Tropical Cafe (5-minute drive) a multi-story nightclub, with spectacular shows, dance floors, and multiple bars.
