Why We Like It

Most guests will stay here because of on-site meetings or conventions. For others, this hotel is a good pick for travelers with an early flight, an overnight stay, or spending time on the east side of town and Aurora or Commerce City suburbs. It’s an easy train ride into downtown Denver if you have time to see the sights and both the airport and the hotel have a wonderful collection of public artworks.

Fodor's Expert Review

The swooping lines of this glass building, designed to resemble how birds look from far away, dock The Westin Denver International Airport directly with the namesake airport. It’s mere steps from the hotel to drop off luggage or check in for flights. A newer property (the hotel opened in 2015), everything from the outside to the floors, walls, and rooms inside are gleaming.

You Should Know Staying at this property is not signing on for the full Denver experience. Denver’s airport is located far east of the rest of the city, surrounded by open fields, shale oil rigs, and suburban sprawl.

Room

The 519 rooms and suites, perfect for conventions or large gatherings, offer Wi-Fi, a safe, keyless entry via an app, and soundproofing, so there’s no concern you’ll hear any of DIA’s 1,500 scheduled flights.

Bathroom

Bathrooms offer modern styling in the crisp lines of the vanities and walk-in showers with rain showerheads. Suites provide guests with a separate bathtub.

Lobby

Though there’s a lower lobby with some chic murals and scant seating, guests are guided to come up to the main lobby. Architecture is the central player here, and the 6th-floor lobby includes floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the airport and runway. Contemporary art pieces are hung and affixed throughout and there’s a swanky bar to complete the floorplan.

Pool

The indoor heated pool and hot tub have a fun view out onto the Eastern Plains, to watch planes, trains, and automobiles come and go.

Gym

The fitness center is fully equipped, with circuit training, treadmills, stationary bikes, yoga equipment, plus mountain views. Through the New Balance Gear Lending program, guests can rent athletic wear and shoes for just a few extra dollars per day.

Dining

The on-site restaurant, Grill and Vine, offers modern American cuisine and has bar, dining room, and patio seating when weather allows. You can score all-day coffee as well as grab-and-go snacks and bottled beverages from Ingredients Coffee.

Drinking

Between the rounded ceilings and the turquoise seating, you’ll feel a little like you’ve stepped back in time to the heydey of 1960s airplane travel at Sky Lounge & Bar, open only during the evenings.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

It’s easy to get to downtown Denver in under 40 minutes via the A line train or via taxi or ride-share, but travelers who plan to explore more of the area or venture into the mountains will want to rent a car.

Restaurants

Diners are able to access any restaurants in Denver International Airport’s Jeppesen Terminal, but only ticketed passengers can enjoy the better establishments located in the three concourses. The sandwiches and platters at Red Rocks Bar & BBQ (4-minute walk) are smothered in house-made, award-winning sauce. Enjoy a classic breakfast or dinner in a classic diner (located inside a lustrous chrome boxcar) at Moonlight Diner (12-minute drive). Classic pub grub, like burgers, ribs, fish and chips, sandwiches, salads, and soups, can be found at the also family-friendly Vinny’s Bar & Grill (10-minute drive).

Bars

Your best bet in Jeppesen Terminal is the Boulder Beer Tap House (2-minute walk), whose menu has pub food and an impressive selection of rotating tap handles. For the full sports bar experience, check out Tower Tap & Grill (11-minute drive). On a nice day, nothing beats a beer in the great outdoors at a spot Green Valley Ranch Beer Garden (15-minute drive), with an expanse of picnic tables and rotating taps surrounded by a park.
