JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek
150 Clayton Ln., Denver, Colorado 80206, USAWhy We Like It
A classic luxury brand, the JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek delivers an expected experience. The rooms are large and clean and we love both the kid- and pet-friendly nature of the property. It’s the perfect retreat after a long day of meetings or to explore Denver from a calmer homebase than downtown.
Fodor's Expert Review
Surrounded by the shops and restaurants of Cherry Creek North, staying at the JW Marriott Denver provides an opportunity to explore a different part of Denver. The location is mere blocks from Denver Botanic Gardens and still a quick drive or ride to downtown. The area appeals to an older and more established clientele, so you’ll find designer boutiques, fine dining, and a terrific assortment of art galleries.

Room
Brilliant blues and oranges melt into chocolate tones in the property’s 196 rooms (five of them suites). All rooms include complimentary water, coffee and tea, a mini-bar, and laptop safe. This is a pet-friendly hotel, with dog treats as well as stainless water and food bowls provided upon request. The JW Marriott Denver is a solid family-friendly option, too, with kid-sized robes, coloring books with a scavenger hunt, and cribs or playards also available.
Tip Upgrade to a Concierge Level room for better city views and access to the Executive Lounge with complimentary breakfast, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Bathroom
The marble baths feature large vanities and art deco wallpaper juxtaposed against travertine showers and tubs. All units have a separate shower and bathtub. The hotel stocks an exclusive line of bath products from Aromatherapy Associates.
Lobby
Playing up Denver’s cowboy past, the lobby is bathed in deep brown, dark leather, cowhide, and modern mountain accents and furniture, with pops of blue. Kinetic wall art by local wood artist Ryan Kvande gracefully spins on the wall.
Spa
Beyond expected hair, nail, face, and body treatments, Antoine du Chez Spa & Salon Cherry Creek is also a popular destination for bridal makeup and bachelorette pampering. Guests can book individual services or packages, including couple’s massages and pedicures.
Tip Hotel guests are able to order room service delivered directly to the spa or salon.
Gym
The small but mighty gym showcases a good selection of machines and free weights. As a thoughtful detail, towels are provided.
Dining
JW’s Social Fare Restaurant has a bountiful menu of meat, seafood, and vegetarian cuisine. Enjoy one of the many Colorado craft brews on tap next to one of the restaurant’s outdoor fire pits. Brunch, almost a religion in Denver, is treated reverently by a huge pancake social on Sunday mornings.
Drinking
Social Fare has ample bar space as well. Don’t miss day-specific happy hours, like their Whiskey and Wine Wednesday, beginning at 4 p.m., and the Feeling Fine Friday, where $1 from each drink is donated to a charity of your choice. And on the weekend, forget a bloody mary bar, Social Fare has a full-on brunch bar so you can play bartender and mix up a masterpiece of your own making on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
