The lovingly tended, knotty-pine-paneled guest rooms at this lakefront B&B in Tahoe Vista beautifully and simply capture the woodsy spirit of Tahoe, but without overdoing the pinecone motif. Every room has a gas fireplace and down comforter. All have private entrances and extra touches such as bathrobes, stereo CD players, and rubber duckies in the bathtubs; many rooms have great views of the water. A private beach, kayaks for guest use, and complimentary wine and appetizers in late afternoon are additional amenities. Yes, it's pricey, but at how many places can you sip morning coffee while gazing out at the mist rising off the lake?
