Fodor's Expert Review Rescoldos

This small, cozy Mediterranean bistro (whose name means "burning embers") was the dream of Canadian owners Jake and Rae Ann. Food is served in a courtyard where Jake mans the Pompeii pizza oven that they converted from an old cement water cistern. Rae Ann puts her own spin on traditional Italian dishes like fried raviolis with apple and walnut and thick-crust pizza piled high with sausage, spinach and provolone. Equally satisfying are Greek selections like spanakopita and falafel. Vegetarians have plenty of options, including vegetable lasagna, roasted veggies, and a selection of tasty salads. Don't leave without trying the memorable homemade gelato.
