Hotel Posada Mariposa

Charming little boutique hotel with an interesting design that includes natural touches and typical Mexican accents. Location, however, is its main asset, as it’s right in the heart of famous Fifth Avenue. A good budget option, for the traveler who wants to explore the city and the region instead of just staying all day at the hotel’s premises.

All rooms have undergone a recent and much-needed facelift, looking now quite stylish and intimate, with a décor based on contrasting colors and modern furniture such as Ottoman couches and fluffy rugs. Most suites enjoy garden views, while the Grand Deluxe Master one has some great 5^th Avenue views.

YOU SHOULD KNOW The famous Quinta Avenida is a bustling street filled with luxury shops, gourmet restaurants and legendary nightclubs. This means it can be quite noisy too.

bathroom

The bathrooms are small but sophisticated enough. Some rooms come with double sink located straight on the room, as space is limited. Luxury Lord & Mayfair toiletries are the kind of details that make of Posada Mariposa an enjoyable place.

The lobby at Posada Mariposa can be described as an eclectic space with gorgeous antique furniture blending with lush indoor vegetation, which creates a nice and relaxing atmosphere.

Although there is no proper Spa in the premises of Posada Mariposa, there is a variety of in-room massages available on request.

dining

A little hotel like this one, has to outsource some of its services due to a lack of space. So, for breakfast they have an agreement with La Vagabunda, which serves traditional Mexican dishes. For lunch and dinner, Ambasciata D’Italia is the option, where Posada Mariposa’s guests enjoy a 10% discount.

Enjoying a complimentary coffee and snack in the lobby before hitting the road, can be a good way to avoid expensive meals at the 5th Avenue restaurants. If the idea is to explore, you’ll find better and cheaper options elsewhere.

drinking

Besides the small coffee station in the lobby and the above-mentioned restaurants, there are no other drinking options at Posada Mariposa. But come on, you are on the Fifth Avenue where bars and nightclubs are plentiful and diverse (see below).
