Why We Like It
Excellent location, steps from the Fifth Avenue and two blocks from the beach. We love the oasis-like ground gardens. Mayan Bistro is a fine restaurant with renowned seafood specialties.
An oasis of tropical flora explodes in the central courtyard of this medium-sized hotel located right in the heart of Playa del Carmen, a few steps away from the hip Quinta Avenida and a couple of blocks from the beach. Aventura Mexicana is an unassuming hotel, divided into adults and family-friendly sections, with a surprisingly wide array of amenities.
room
The family-friendly guestrooms are somewhat quaint featuring a traditional Mexican décor with bright colors and rustic wood furniture. On the other hand, the adults-only suites offer a more sophisticated atmosphere with neutral colors and modern design. All rooms include air conditioning, small fridge, cable TV and Wi-Fi access.
YOU SHOULD KNOW The Deluxe Double suites with street views also gets a lot of street noise. Remember, this hotel is located in the downtown of a beach party town, so it’s recommended to try to get one of the rooms overlooking to the garden and pool.
bathroom
Aventura Mexicana management makes a point of communicating that all their bathrooms are fully enclosed, and although they are, they are also very simple with nothing to write home about. Just a single sink equipped with hairdryer and organic toiletries, and a shower with hot water.
lobby
A colorful hall with antique furnishing of rustic wood and a classic smithy chandelier is the welcoming area for Aventura Mexicana’s guests. The place has the feeling of an old Mexican house, and offers a stark contrast with the more modern design of the garden grounds.
pool
The value of Aventura Mexicana resides in its gorgeous public areas, with those spectacular lavish gardens surrounding a couple of pools (one for each section of the hotel) and the three sundecks. The adults pool is quieter and has several loungers and a few tables in the surroundings.

Xtabey Spa provides a diversity of massages under the freshness and tranquility of a garden palapa, or in your own room.
gym
This hotel doesn’t count a gym on its list of amenities, however, it does have a nice yoga studio in a fresh palapa with garden views and it also provides guests with a discount pass for a nearby gym.
dining
Mayan Bistro is a fine restaurant with a casual setting of contrasting pink-marble floor and thatched-roof palapa. It serves dishes of Mexican and International cuisine all day long.
There are different meals programs available, such as The VIP All Inclusive and the cooked-to-order breakfasts. Make sure to get the right one for you.
drinking
Mayan Bistro offers a full bar with a variety of commercial spirits, national and international beers and an interesting wine list. Few things top the pleasure of sipping a cool Margarita by a gorgeous pool like the one at Aventura Mexicana.

LOCATION
Getting Around
Cancun International Airport is a 75-minute drive from the hotel, and you can get a taxi or a colectivo (mini-bus) to get to the hotel. Taxi is more expensive but faster. There is also a first class bus transportation, and the bus terminal is just a 7-minute drive away from the hotel. You could also rent a car at the airport to explore the area during your vacation, but if you are not planning to move much beyond the boundaries of Playa del Carmen, there is no need. You can easily walk everywhere or rent a bike.
Restaurants
La Cueva del Chango (8-minute walk) is a chic place with amazing jungle setting and great Mexican food. Oh Lala (6-minute walk) a small, cozy restaurant with Mediterranean and International food. Very elegant and fine cuisine.
