The Best Hotels for Nightlife in Riviera Maya
By now, you may’ve heard that Playa del Carmen's Fifth Avenue is an oasis of state-of-the-art nightclubs, Dj live music and rooftop pool parties. So, it’s no surprise that most hotels on this list are located within walking distance from the ‘Quinta’, as it’s known by locals. However, if a resort has really go the extra mile to provide decent nightlife options inside its own premises, it has also been considered.
La Tortuga Hotel & Spa
Why it made the list
From La Tortuga you can hear (and feel) the wild parties going on at Coco Bongo nightclub, which is just a block away. Mandala and La Vaquita are two blocks away, and if you keep walking you’ll get to Zenzi and its live Dj music by the beach until the early hours of the morning.
Hotel Kinbé
Why it made the list
Kinbé is the kind of hotel that makes a living of its perfect location. It also has developed a chic style, but if it weren’t between the 5th Avenue and the beach it would never made it into this list. Legendary Coco Bongo nightclub is just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, so I rest my case.
Grand Bahía Princípe

This hotel is away from the main spots in the Riviera Maya night scene, so it decided to create its own nightlife. Among the 16 bars in total between its two properties (Tulum & Coba), it includes a nightclub, and a casino, plus a wide array of Mexican festivals.
Occidental Grand Xcaret

This hotel main asset is its proximity to famous Xcaret Eco-park, but that means it’s away from where the main action happens. However, they make up for that providing a traditional Mayan Welcome show every night at the lobby. There are also live entertainment at their theater and the Palenque Disco is open until the early hours of the morning.

The adults-only section of the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, is exactly that for the party-animals out there. The party here just never stops, all bars are stunning establishments, but the cherry on the cake is that Heaven nightclub which includes a live Dj, a pool and a couple of Jacuzzis on its premises.
Live Aqua Boutique Resort Playa del Carmen

Live Aqua has some of the best rooftop pool parties every weekend, and it’s located just steps away from the Quinta Avenida and its full offer of world-class nightclubs such as Coco Bongo, Mandala, and Palazzo.
The Royal Playa del Carmen

Among the five bars available at The Royal, Tequileria presents the most attractive option to kick-start the night with the most exclusive brands of tequila and a selection of high-end cigars. Once ready to go, its outstanding beachfront location in downtown Playa del Carmen has it just 10 minutes away from either the most famous nightclub in town, Coco Bongo, or a legendary beach club such as Mamita’s.
