Fodor's Expert Review Sanchiri Mirador

Just beyond the town of Paraíso on the road to Orosi, this restaurant-bar with excellent food also has one of the valley's best miradores (lookout points). The best vantage point, though, is at a point on the road just beyond Sanchiri where the earth appears to drop away and the valley comes into view as you make the steep descent to the town of Orosi. Here's a case for letting someone else do the driving. A little farther along, there's free parking at the Orosi Mirador, a public park with spectacular views, sheltered picnic tables and grills, and a children's playground. There are some steep steps to climb but the views—and the clean restrooms—at the top are worth it.
