This boutique perfumier makes just six fragrances, each inspired by and named after classic Balearic-island scents ­such as Fig, Orange, and Sea Breeze. The island's most significant market occurs every Wednesday, 8 am to 1:30 pm, in Sineu, 34 km (21 miles) east of Palma. Among the island's oldest, the market dates back to the 14th century, when livestock was auctioned—a practice that continues today. Come early if you want to see the auction, which takes place in and around the main square. Local crafts and produce, plants and flowers, clothing, and leather goods are traded throughout the village along the labyrinth of narrow streets, which can get very busy.

The building that houses this innovative lifestyle store off Passeig del Born—an 18th-century city palace still showing off giant archways and original brickwork—is as striking as the curated edit of homeware, fashion, toys, and English-language books inside. Owned by design-obsessed Swedes Barbara Bergman and Klas Käll (the latter, one of the founding designers of the Gant brand), the store is a Palma institution for gift buyers, interior stylists, and anyone needing a refuel (pastries, lunch, a glass of local wine) in its buzzy café.
