Fodor's Expert Review Museo de Historia y Antropología

La Laguna Museum/Gallery

Occupying the splendid 17th-century palace of an Italian merchant, this museum chronicles Tenerife's sociocultural history from the 15th to the 20th century with documents, artifacts, and religious relics. Signage is in Spanish only, but you can download a free English audio guide on your smartphone (ask museum personnel for details). The elegant courtyard blends Italian Renaissance architecture, like white marble columns, with local materials such as hardy Canary Island pine.
