Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Casa del Embajador
Calle La Tegala 56, Playa Blanca, Canary Islands, 35580, Spain Fodor's Choice
Tucked behind one of Lanzarote's typically green front doors is an oasis of calm where all you'll want to do is curl up in one of the loungers and take in the views of Fuerteventura and the Isla de Lobos. Named after the ambassador (embajador) who bought the property to rent rooms to the island's first tourists, this small hotel oozes colonial charm and style with parquet floors, cane furniture, and Moroccan details in the tiles and lamps. It recently unveiled a sleek infinity pool (and consequently upped its rates). Rooms are intimate, and all have ocean views. A "secret" door takes you to the seaside promenade, from which you can easily reach the bustle of Playa Blanca.
