Stunning coastal scenery and ancient ruins are the main draws on North Uist. You’ll find art everywhere on the island, from the ends of roads and paths to the edge of the coast, only visible from a boat. Be sure to visit the camera obscura (an old-fashioned projector) at the Uist Outdoor Centre just beyond the ferry terminal. Its watery images are evocative and unsettling.
