Svinøya Rorbuer
In the oldest and most atmospheric part of Svolvær Island, this cluster of rorbuer (fishermen's cabins) is close to the cod drying on racks and the screaming seagulls. The fishermen's cabins are a rustic sort of luxury with the cozy charm of northern Norway mixed with fireplaces, large bathrooms, and spacious kitchens. The reception area has a little museum of curiosities like fishermen’s wooden-soled boots. The former quayside warehouse, built in 1828, is now the Børsen Spiseri restaurant, known for dishes like boknafisk (half-dried cod).
