Fodor's Review

Amsterdam's 1926-built municipal greenhouses were set to be torn down in 2001, when chef Gert Jan Hageman took over the buildings and turned the space into a restaurant and garden serving Mediterranean-influenced food. The updated dining spaces are lovely, modern, and light-filled, thanks to the glass roof. Many of the ingredients are grown in the greenhouse and surrounding gardens, supplemented by area farmers and suppliers. The frequently changing €49.50 prix-fixe dinner menu, with dishes chosen by the chef (vegetarians can be accommodated), always consists of a selection of small starters, followed by a main course and a dessert; there's also a two-course lunch menu for €39. You can order à la carte, but really everyone comes for the set menus. The wine selection is delightful, and they do a wonderful job with pairings.
