Fodor's Review

This odd name is Venetian for "smirk," although you'd be hard-pressed to find one of those around this cheery, familiar wine bar with a wine selection as ample as the cicheti on offer. Making the most of their limited space, owners Alessandro and Andrea have installed counters and stools inside, tables outside, and external banco access for ordering a second round—and order you will, selecting from a spread of delectable cicheti from classic polpette of meat and tuna to tomino cheese rounds to speck and robiolo rolls, and more. They've paid equal attention to their wine selection—ask for a recommendation and you're likely to make a new discovery. Sbarlefo has a second location in Dorsoduro, in the calle just behind the church of San Pantalon.
