Charming. That’s likely the first word that will come to mind when you set foot in this delightful little hotel, with just 13 rooms, tucked into quiet Campo Sant’Angelo. Inside a 17th-century palazzo crammed with antiques and period details, Palazzo Paruta is wonderfully situated in a serene residential area with a true local feel, about halfway between the Rialto and Piazza San Marco.
You Should Know If you can't live without amenities like a gym, spa, or full-service restaurant, this hotel is not for you.

Room
Even the standard guest rooms are decked out in lush, richly colored fabrics, while the deluxe and higher category rooms come with pretty Murano glass chandeliers and mirrors.
Tip Try to get a room with a balcony for some peaceful views.
Bathroom
All-white Carrara marble bathrooms are elegant and come with either showers or tubs.
Lobby
Palazzo Paruta’s lobby is basically just a (charming) place to check in, nothing more.
Tip Don’t miss the hotel’s lovely internal courtyard, perfect for chilling after a long day exploring the town, or if you want to relax inside, try the stately red-and-gold lounge.
Dining
Although Palazzo Paruta doesn’t have its own restaurant, they do serve a complimentary buffet breakfast with seasonal products in an elegant room with beamed ceilings, gold wallpaper, and terrazzo floors.

Getting Around
The San Angelo vaporetto stop is only a 2-minute walk from the hotel, making it very convenient to go to and from the airport (though you will have to cross a handful of bridges with stairs to get there) and around the island. Otherwise, from Palazzo Paruta you can walk pretty much anywhere around Venice.
Restaurants
Getting lost in the narrow Venetian streets will be worth it once you find Ai Mercanti (6-minute walk), a haven for inventive dishes at a reasonable price. Osteria Enoteca San Marco (7-minute walk) is a surprisingly ultra-modern Italian bistro with a wonderful wine list amongst a sea of tourist traps. Michelin-starred Ristorante Quadri (9-minute walk) is pricey and gets mixed reviews, but its prime location in Piazza San Marco is worth a look.
Bars
Enoteca al Volto (5-minute walk) is a fine place to stop for some cicchetti (bar snacks) and wine on a quiet back street. Lively wine shop/bar Cantine del Vino già Schiavi (9-minute walk) has no seating, but serves up inexpensive wines with interesting small bites. Or try a Bellini cocktail at the place it was invented, Harry’s Bar (9-minute walk).
